Friendship

With the exception of a fiery run in between the boys, which resulted in a bitten pinky finger and some serious scolding on my part, I was at peace, in my happy place today. Sun shining, washing churning and a perfect park play date with my dear friend (Hi Nat!) and her gorgeous kidlets. This friendship has covered some miles. We first met in kindergarten, a good 28 (!) years ago. I am in awe of my beautiful friend and her incredible patience and love and commitment to motherhood. With 4 little people under the age of 5. A successful career, huge circle of family and friends to keep up with AND doing it all on the land, running a farm with her wonderful hubby, it is no wonder I'm so impressed by her.

What made the morning all the more fabulous... our children's behaviour. All 6 of them were amazing. Playing and grazing and just generally getting along. It makes a potentially hair raising situation that much more relaxed when the planets align like this. And today, they did. Which left me feeling rather fortunate indeed, to have great kids and a top friend. A lifelong friend. My only wish is that we were able to have these dates more often.

  5. Look at those happy contented faces just love it! I know how you feel my bestie (I call her my FF.....forever friend) but her name is Di, she lives in Canberra and I miss her all the time she came up for a week for my birthday this year and it was just a wish come true. I think as long as we make an effort whenever we can the rest the internet or phone can take care of! Glad you had a special day dear friend.

I'm still best friends with my preschool girlfriend, even though she's lived all over the world & i've lived all over Australia, we're now only Sydney to Canberra apart. She started having babies when i finished, so we have a long range of children, i love it!! Love Posie

I have known my dearest friend since we were five and regardless of time or distance we always manage to pick up where we left off from, which I love.
