On Saturday evening, with an excited spring in our step, Scott and I toddled off into the sunset. It's been a little over four years since we sat across the table from one another, in a restaurant, just the two of us. We have each shared night's out with friends independently and a handful of times been out with groups of friends together. But this was the first time alone, as a couple, sans kidlets. And our first official 'date night' felt good. Better than good. Tremendous!
There are some deeelicious options for dining out in our area. We are spoilt for choice. Though we decided to go with an old favourite, being Thai. No interruptions, plenty of conversation, a balmy Autumn evening. Perfecto! Post dinner, we rolled (literally, as we were full to the brim) on down to a local pub to check out the scene. Lots of reminiscing was enjoyed as we bounced around the place. From chatting in the beer garden, to having a chuckle at just how old we felt in the night club, to bopping along with the live band in the pub. Beer and Malibu & pineapple flowing (I had to relent to my Malibu urges, it has the uncanny ability to take me straight back in time). We arrived home just before midnight, tired, happy and completely buzzing. After four years, it's comforting to realise that nothing much has changed... precisely where it counts. I love the love we have.
Yah, how good is the feeling to come home together and know you are not missing out on a thing! x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fab night! Ha, love a Malibu and pineapple xx
ReplyDeleteOh, a date night! How spectacular! I'm so glad you went out-out, and not just to the movies and straight home. So excited that you had a great time and didn't feel the need to rush home. I love that you had Malibu. Gosh that takes ME back as well!
ReplyDeleteI hope you plan another one soon. Our neighbour has just gotten old enough for some babysitting and so we're out much more than we use to be! xx
Yay for date night and for blurry lovely pictures of a super lovely couple! Sounds like you had a ball!!! Really must schedule one of these in!
ReplyDeleteOh Jules, you gorgeous girl. Just what you needed right now, Sweets. Fabulous. J x
ReplyDeleteJust brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWe're constantly saying how we should organise ourselves a 'date night' - but haven't got around to it for a while now.
Sounds like the perfect night - now don't wait another four years!
I love that blurry, lovey pic of you two.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! We tend to do Date Mornings at the moment but there's something a bit special about sneaking off in the evening! Glad you had fun!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, if I still lived in Sydney I would promptly park myself on your doorstep and usher you two out the door while I look after the young men so you could have more nights out like this!!! I really hope you can do this again soon. You too are so cute :-D
ReplyDeleteFantastic J!!! I'm so pleased you and Scotty did this! Hope it's the start of something regular xoxo
ReplyDeleteYay to date night! You two are gorgeous together. I hope you don't have to wait another 4 years till your next date night, they really are the best!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, yes! The date nights that are few and far between... how we truly appreciate them! And how they make us realise how precious the BC (before children) years were! So stoked for you xxx Fi
