Until quite recently, I struggled to understand when parents declared a strong loathing of going to the park. Before I became a Mama, park days were one of those things I longed for. Playing with my children for hours and hours in the sunshine and fresh air. And I must say, it's always pretty much lived up to those idyllic expectations. But then Felix found his feet and at the same time developed an attitude and a propensity to run... and run fast. So now, a trip to the park is fraught with danger and stress and absolutely NO time to rest... at all.
Yesterday, was one of those days. We park hopped, due to the high level of emotion at the first one we visited. Felix cried and screeched for the full half hour we were there. And being the determined nut that I am, I persevered by venturing to another park nearby. I figured it couldn't get worse. I was right. Park visit take two was a good idea. Happy boys, happy Mama. Park life at it's best.
What fantastic photos of the boys....they look like they are having such a good time! I love taking my kids to parks as well....although it can be really exhausting at times :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous boys! I have a love hate relationship with parks. Love that Emmy loves them but hate pushing those friggin swings ;)
ReplyDeleteGood on you for persevering J, looks like it was definitely worth it. Awesome photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the park too...
ReplyDeletefor now.
That may well change in the months/years to come.
:-)
Such sweet pics of those babes.
xx
Oh Jules. You darling girl. I have always been impressed by your willingness to do the park thing. It's not something I ever do willingly - that's Mr PB's gig! Trying to manage the 3 pixies with only 2 hands is well nigh impossible - ) can't push 3 swings at the same time ☺. I applaud your resilience. J x
ReplyDeleteSo glad you persevered and all turned out well in the end! I'm not such a fan of the park, but its growing on me. x
ReplyDeleteA bit like a pub crawl for kids? Look how big the Mandrake has gotten! Gorgeous! x
ReplyDeleteWe have one here however it is so unsafe and everything is too far spaced apart. Haidee runs really fast too and before I know it she's scaling the 4 metre wall that's there. Scares the lights outta me. There is a fantastic one at Bathurst that we visit when we go on the odd occasion. It has a flying fox that you would love! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe're lucky in that we have a park like yard so the girls run amock outside. I do miss our visits to the parks when we were in Sydney. I loved taking them. Hope you are well lovely, A x
There does seem to be a pocket of time during toddlerhood where the park causes more stress than it is worth but once you ride through it it then becomes much more enjoyable again :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was definitely worth your while to do a park hop Julie.

Gorgoeus pics, Julie.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind parks - but I do prefer them when they're quieter so we can actually play properly. Glad your day got better - good old fresh air! X
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your boys having fun Julie! Park days are some of my best memories from childhood and were always so much fun! :) xo Kirsty
ReplyDeleteI remember those days of the 'runner' and a park that was fenced in was always the top of my list. We are lucky to have a park in the estate we live in and now the boys are older enough to go over by themselves. I just stand on the driveway and holler when its hometime and it reminds me so much of when I was a kid and my parents used to do the same. xx
ReplyDeleteWell done for giving the second park a go, always good to finish the day with one positive experience :)
ReplyDeleteI like parks only when they're not overly crowded. Sweet pictures of your boys :) Have a great summer!
ReplyDeleteI applaud you patience, well done you! Gorgeous pics, well worth it for these lovely shots and sweet memories (park 2 only!). xo
