The boys and I are flying solo this weekend, with Scott away on a golf trip for four days. Needless to say I am searching for things to do to keep us all occupied, whilst at the same time keeping relative peace among us. Last week I received a very thoughtful invitation in my inbox, for tickets to the Better Homes & Gardens show. It is rare for me to receive this type of lovely offer and knowing I had an extra long weekend of entertaining the littlies, I jumped at the chance to snap a couple up. Unfortunately my dear Mama is unwell at the moment and was unable to join us for the fun yesterday. So my little bundles of energy and I went along and checked out the scene.
The boys had a good time in the Kid Zone, creating up a storm on the rather impressive arts & crafts table. They jumped on a springless trampoline... of which the sales guy and girl had no hope of selling to me, with our tiny courtyard. And then met some very sweet furry friends... they may have more luck persuading Mama into bringing one of these home in the not too distant future. For the adults, it was a mecca of house and garden and cooking and appliances. If I had been sans kiddies, I could have really let my hair down, but I was just happy to be there and soak up the atmosphere. And I discovered for the first time ever, just how good Weight Watchers food tastes. Because of course free food at a show is an instant hit... and it was YUM! Definitely something in it for everyone and we were ever so grateful to receive the tickets.
All good fun! I love the feathers on the bird..and am amazed at the possum feathers..so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAh perfect timing..gotta love a bit of help with the babysitting in the way of strangers and craft time. I hope your mum is ok.x
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun! ANd good timing too! x
ReplyDeleteMen and their trips away! Glad you had a lovely day out and it is so much better to do craft OUT of the house! xx

ReplyDeleteGreat day! Impressive crafts table! x
ReplyDeleteThe craft table is spectacular! Love when something like that happens because it gives me the perfect opportunity to sit with kids and craft to my hearts delight! Glad you had a good day Jules. x
ReplyDeletewhat a fun score....looks like you all had great fun. Enjoy the rest of your solo weekend. x
ReplyDeleteLooks like a tonne of fun, they boys look very serious about their craft too.
ReplyDeleteSo funny with sales people, the amount of times i have to explain in live in Army housing so no, i can't install solar panels, a pool or a garage extension!! Seriously!! Love Posie
I'm so jealous! We were talking about going to the show, but couldn't really justify the cost. How fantastic you scored tickets. I have to admit that I've tried Weight watchers food and quite enjoyed it too. In fact my 12 year old used to sneak the cookies into his lunch box when he was packing his own snacks for school. I hope you get to have your own equivalent of a golf weekend away soon xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic fun.
ReplyDeleteI hope the four days have passed fairly quickly and smoothly for you (and those gorgeous boys).
Solo parenting loses it's lustre for me after about 24 hours!!

Your little men are growing up!! Looks like they're having heaps of fun :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this on tv and really wished I could go.
ReplyDeleteIs it golf trip time of year again? And you didn't come and visit??? You could have hung out with us for 4 days, but the craft and food probably wouldn't have been as good ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a great day out J.
Hope your Mum is OK, sending her lots of love xoxox
