A Favourite Moment

My state was somewhat groggy following the birth of both boys. A mixture of euphoric joy, hard core pain relief and in the case of Angus' birth, blissful ignorance. I had no real concept of the journey Scott and I had begun. Just riding the wave and floating through the motions, of my brand new experience. When Felix was born, I made a point of taking greater notice of the detail, trying to savour the reactions and actually enjoy the immediate aftermath. And one reaction in particular, will live on in my heart and mind, forever and a day. The introduction of two brothers. The instant when their chubby, pink, hands first touched. The undeniable bond, which I hope will see them through a lifetime of highs and lows. That initial meeting, was one of my all time favourite moments... this right here, is one of my all time favourite photos. It hangs on the wall in our living room and every time I look at it, I feel so overwhelmingly proud.

  7. Oh I have a similar photo with my girls and I treasure it. Unfortunately I don't have one with the girls and D , to be honest I'm not even sure I was there when they saw him the first time. Being so sick and all.
It's a magical moment though. Xxx

  9. Such a treasured memory Julie and one that had me beaming from ear to ear. I can say that the bond between our oldest two, 20 months apart, has only grown stronger over the years.
