Silent Night

This week my hectic-meter has been running at the high end of extreme. The festive season is in full swing and I'm really feeling it. Feeling the joy, the spirit, the excitement and the togetherness. But also feeling the stress, the expectation, the rush and the exhaustion. Like the lead up to Christmas is one big, deep, breath and only once it has been and gone, will I then be able to exhale. So much to do, so few hours in the day. This blog post is a prime example. Commenced last night, as I sat bleary-eyed on the lounge... three. hours. later. at 2am, I woke. Still sitting upright, laptop on lap, television buzzing.

I am feeling very fortunate for many things right now. Spending time with family, pre-Christmas Day, because for various reasons we won't be seeing them on the 25th. Rowdy play dates with friends, who also have boys... and watching those boys play and laugh and rumble together. Friends certainly enhance the joy of Christmas and I can't wait to enjoy more quality time with them over the coming week. But right now, all I really need, is to sleep in heavenly peace.

  5. I think we're all feeling a little like that. It's such a great time of year but yes, so tiring. Not long to go until we should all hopefully get some R&R. Hope you are resting peacefully today :)

  6. "the stress, the expectation, the rush and the exhaustion" - it's so true, so how can we slow it all down so we can enjoy it? I wish I knew the answer. We haven't really had the rush or the exhaustion but certainly the stress and expectation.

Hope it all calms soon, xo

  11. J- Go To Bed when Hubby Does. The next few days will be VERY busy and the boys highly strung. Rest up so you are able to enjoy Christmas with your beautiful family feeling a little less tired.
I LOVE the photo, just wondering how long it will be til Angus is climbing to the top.

  12. I hope you get the sleep you need. You have big duties to perform on Saturday night. Reindeer to tame. Carrots to eat. Beers to drink. I hope you and yours have the best Christmas. See you in 2012 x

  13. I too am feeling the stress, the expectation, the rush and the exhaustion. I blew out last night, almost ready to declare there will be no Christmas in our household. Strangely enough I am not stressed out at all, but watching everyone else run around just exhausts me. Sigh...I never want to wish time away but hurry up Sunday!

I can't wait for that moment where I can sit and relax. Not long now Jules, not long now. xo
