March... Really?!

Last night I rolled into bed with the clock still in the eleven's. I can't remember the last time I was in bed in the eleven's. If I'm being completely honest I can't remember the last time I saw the twelve's on the clock either. It seems these days, being an adult... and an adult Mama... and an adult Mama who is trying to build an online business... leaves little opportunity for a long, restful night's sleep. But I will not complain for a second, as I am doing exactly what I want to be doing and all good things require effort and take time and energy. And this weekend, I threw a great night out with the girl's into the mix... which meant by Sunday evening, could hardly keep my peepers open.

But I really miss blogging. Blogging here, visiting the beautiful blogs of so many others and simply having the extra hour or so to blog hop and find brand new gems. I miss keeping a regular record of my boy's little milestones, funny incidents and special memories. It's all there, in my head, just doesn't quite make it to the page. All I know is that the weeks are flying. Angus loves school and learning and making friends and playing sport and running around like a wild boy after school with mates. Felix is a spirited combination of testing and utterly delightful. Our routine is fairly well locked down now and we manage a couple of nice play dates each week with lovely friends. As for me, I have never felt busier. Aside from the usual cooking, cleaning and chasing the boys around, I am running three mornings a week... early, real early... which makes for some incredible sunrise viewings in the park. And of course, sewing for Button Tots. All in a day's work!

  1. Nice to see another post from you Julie. I love how you describe 'a spirited combination of testing and utterly delightful' that's a great way to describe boys this age! Love the bird shirt with the big button too x

  2. You are a very busy lady! I'm amazed at how much you do. Your boys are adorable and I understand exactly what you mean about this age! I hope you get to catch up on some sleep soon. :)

  3. Oh Julie, I'm exhausted just reading about your day. Running/starting a business is hard work, being a mamma is hard work. And having a school-aged child makes the day inbetween drop off and pick up very short! You do well to blog as much as you do - and I completely understand! But when you do update, it's lovely. Someone who has become a runner does understand that in order to fit it in, it has to be early. Or time for yourself doesn't tend to happen at all! Happy days beautiful girl. Please rest and sleep more. You will be thankful. Xx

I wish I could be an early morning runner like you, any tips, please........

  8. Gorgeous photos Julie! Your stitching is very neat and those little tops look delightful. It is good to have days that are so satisfying and full. I'm glad your boys have settled into their routines too and are having a good time at school and with friends.

  13. Can I just say you're doing a wonderful job?!

I too, am trying to create my own little business, & I can completely relate to seeing very late hours on that clock when it's time for sleep - funny that it doesn't feel so bad when you're retiring for the evening after having worked for yourself, & only yourself.

I never quite felt the same hitting bed so late after a night shift - working for someone else :)

I too, wish I had more time for blogging, reading blogs, finding new blogs, recording more of Max's days and so on, and so on, and so on ...

    Alas, I do not.

Life is busy :) Good busy! Sometimes bad busy, but busy!

I think you're well on your way to finding a really great balance :)

    Much love to you J,

    x

  15. and once again you become my on-line blogging soul sister! I feel exactly the same way, although you seem to be much more together about it! I'm trying. I barely have to time to blog, or read blogs, yet when I do it reminds me I'm not alone. I haven't gone running much because we've had two weeks of icy winds and sleet, and now snow this week (It's April in two days!! What's going on!). But I'm working hard, and it seems it's relentless. Butyou've inspired me (once again) to be more appreicative. I love your sewing tops!!! email me the details will you? I'd love to get some for the girls! Well done you. xxxxxxx

  16. Oh I completely understand where you are coming from Julie, for me there are just not enough hours in the day at the moment and my poor blog sits there neglected not from lack of words but from lack of time.
Life sounds just as full but rewarding for you :)
